ENTRY COSTS

  • All Individual Events: £79.50
  • Ski and Snowboard Duals: £108 per team (5 in Ski Team, 4 in Snowboard Team)

An individual entry covers entry into both competitions within the discipline (e.g a snowboard freestyle entry means the individual is entered into ‘Snowboard Big Air’ and ‘Snowboard Slopestyle’).

Entry Process

Individual Events

To apply for the individual competitions all eligible competitors must follow these steps:

  1. Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  3. BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list

Team Events

To apply for this competition:

  1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to enter the correct number of teams for you.
  3. Competitors then need to apply for the respective event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  4. Institution Administrators must assign competitors to the correct team during the approval process. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

Entry Allowance

This event is limited to a maximum of 500 competitors. The ski racing competition will be limited to a maximum of 300, due to time constraints. 

Institutions can request up to 100 non-guaranteed entries in both the male and female events. Institution administrators must rank competitors in order of preference on BUCS Play when approving entries, e.g 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. If the event reaches capacity, BUCS will restrict entries, and this will be done equally across institutions based on the ranks provided.

    • Championship Snowboard Big Air (Men’s and Women’s)
  • Championship Team Ski Dual Slalom (Mixed)
  • Championship Team Snowboard Dual Slalom (Open)
  • Overall Team (Men’s and Women’s) – extracted from individual results

Ski Race – All competitors will compete in Slalom to qualify through to the Giant Slalom.

Snowboard Race – All competitors compete in Giant Slalom to qualify through to Knockouts.

Freestyle Events – All competitors compete in both Slopestyle and Big Air

Overall team positions are extracted from individual scores. The top 8 finishers in each individual competition will be awarded points which contribute to your overall team score. If you finish 1st you received 8 points, 2nd received 7 points, 3rd receives 6 points and so on. In duals, the top four are awarded points which contribute to your overall team score. 1st received 8 points, 2nd received 4 points, 3rd receives 2 points and 4th receives 1 points. The total score is used to determine you overall men’s and women’s team score. You must have a minimum if two competitors to constitution a team.

If you have a BARTS/BASS number, please enter this where prompted on your entry. If you do not have a BARTS/BASS number, please leave this question blank or enter N/A.

Withdrawals

Competitor withdrawals must be made by a competitors athletic/students union by emailing the event lead. 

Please see REG 7.9 for our withdrawal policy. 

Competitors withdraw after 23:59 on Friday 01 November 2024 or who do not attend the event will be classed as a late withdrawal/no show and therefore will be charged the entry fee and fined £50.

Should BUCS have to open stage two entries then new deadlines for withdrawals will be published.

Reserves will only be charged an entry fee if they are accepted into the competition.

Schedule

Registration – 07:00-08:00 TBC

Captains Meeting – 08:00 TBC

A captain no show fine of £20 will be fined if a captain fails to attend the captains meeting on the morning of the event.

Competition start and finish times are TBC based on the number of entries and will be confirmed in the event guide after entries close.

Spectators

No spectators will be permitted at this event due to facility requests and capacity. Competitors involved in the competition will be allowed to spectate whilst not competing.

Photography & Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
