All Individual Events – £81.30

Ski and Snowboard Duals – £110.35 per team (5 in Ski Team, 4 in Snowboard Team)

Snowboard Cross (Trial Event Category) – £45

An individual entry covers entry into an entire discipline (e.g. a snowboard freestyle entry means the individual is enterd into ‘Snowboard Slopestyle’ and ‘Snowboard Rail Jam’).

Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.

Ski Race – All competitors will compete in Slalom, with the top 16 men and top 16 women from the Slalom qualifying through to Knockouts.

Snowboard Race – All competitors compete in Giant Slalom to qualify through to Knockouts.

Freestyle Events – All competitors compete in both Big Air and Rail Jam.

Overall team positions are extracted from individual scores. The top 8 finishers in each individual competition will be awarded points which contribute to your overall team score. If you finish 1st you receive 8 points, 2nd received 7 points, 3rd receives 6 points and so on. In team duals, the top four teams are awarded points which contribute to your overall team score. 1st receives 8 points, 2nd received 4 points, 3rd receives 2 points and 4th receives 1 points. The total score is used to determine your overall men’s and women’s team score. You must have a minimum of two competitors to constitution a team.

This event is limited to a maximum of 600 competitors. The ski racing competition will be limited to a maximum of 350 due to time constraints. The Snowboard Cross competition will be limited to a maximum of 32 men and 32 women.

Institutions can request up to 100 non-guaranteed entries in both the male and female events. Institution administrators must rank competitors in order of preference on BUCS Play when approving entries, e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. If the event reaches capacity, BUCS will restrict entries, and this will be done equally across institutions based on the ranks provided.

Guest entries are permitted for Men’s and Women’s Ski Race ONLY. Guest entries in any other event discipline will be rejected.

If the event reaches capacity, priority will be given to student entries.

Non-student racers will not be eligible for medals or BUCS points but may still compete in the seeded race. Non-students are also not eligible to progress to Individual Knockouts.

Guest entrants must pay for their entry by card on the day of the race at Registration. Cash will not be accepted.

Individual Events

To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:

Team Events (Duals)

To apply for this competition:

1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to enter the correct number of teams for you.
3. Competitors then need to apply for the respective event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
4. Institution Administrators must assign competitors to the correct team during the approval process. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

BUCS Snowsports Rules and Regulations

All competitors should be familiar with and understand available gender categories and regulations under REG 4.3. Please find further information on gender eligibility here.

The Individual Ski Slalom will be a seeded race under the British ARTificial Seeding (BARTS) system.

If you have a BARTS number, please enter this where prompted on your entry on BUCS Play. If you do not, you will not be seeded.

Catsuits are not permitted on Dryslope (BACR rule 606.2.5).

A helmet, long sleeves and trousers and gloves are all required when on Skis or Board on the slope.

Registration – 07:00-08:00 TBC

Captains Meeting – 08:00 TBC

A fine of £50 will be issued if a captain fails to attend the captains meeting on each morning of the event.

Competition start and finish times are TBC based on the number of entries and will be confirmed in the event guide after entries close. It is our intention to run all individual race events (snowboard first, with ski race starting late morning) and Boarder Cross on Saturday, with duals running on Sunday (team duals in the afternoon). Big Air will run on Saturday, with Rail Jam on Sunday. This is provisional and subject to change.

Competitor withdrawals must be made by a competitor’s athletic/students union by emailing the event lead.

Competitors who withdraw after 23:59 on Friday 30 October 2026 or who do not attend the event will be classed as a late withdrawal/no show and therefore will be charged the entry fee and fined £50.

Should there be a Stage 2 entry window, new deadlines for withdrawals will be published.

Duals Substitutions and Reserves

Substitutions for duals are permitted. Any competitors wishing to be substituted into a duals team must already be entered into the event on BUCS Play to be an eligible substitute. Entries for substitutions will not be allowed once the entries have closed for the event. 

Reserves will only be charged an entry fee if they are accepted into the competition.

Guest Entries

Guest entry withdrawals after the entry closing date will still be charged. Late withdrawals and no shows will be fined, as above. This will be via invoice with instructions to make payment by bank transfer.

This will be released closer to the competition date with further information including a more detailed timetable.

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event. Once you have completed the form, please go to the BUCS Desk at the event to receive your media accreditation.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
