This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above.
Entry Costs
£260 per team + £480 Charter Fee charged by BUSA

Entry Allowance
It is intended that 12 skippers will be invited to the event. The OA reserves the right to increase the maximum number of invites.
The OA intends to invite entries in the following order:
- In the first instance, entries will be allocated based on the skippers’ World Sailing Open Match Racing Ranking as published on 1st February 2026.
- If multiple skippers are unranked, entries will be allocated to skippers representing different member clubs to those already entered based on the point above.
- If all skippers are of different member clubs to those already entered or being considered for entry, then entry will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
- The OA reserves the right to amend the entry criteria and the number of selected teams at any point up to 6 days in advance of the first scheduled day of racing. Such amendments will be posted on the official online noticeboard and/or the event WhatsApp group. Such amendments shall not be grounds for redress. This changes Racing Rules of Sailing 61.

Entry Process
To apply for this competition:
- Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to enter the correct number of teams for you.
- Competitors then need to apply for the respective event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Institution Administrators must assign competitors to the correct team during the approval process. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
Reserves
For reserves, students will also need to enter the event. IA's must approve any reserves but not assign them to a specific team to be classed as a reserve for the event.

Additional Information Required for BUCS Play
When entering on BUCS Play, each individual must answer the following questions:
- Skipper’s World Sailing Sailor ID
- Full Name of Crew 1
- Full Name of Crew 2
- Full Name of Crew 3

Photography & Videography
Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.
BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
