ENTRY COSTS

£200 per team (Further Charter Fee payable directly to BUSA after entry, see NoR for further details)

SINGLE ENTRY

This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above.

BUCS points are awarded to the institutions of the top 8 finishing teams.

1st place: 50

2nd place: 35

3rd place: 24

4th place: 16

5th place: 14

6th place: 12

Entry allowance and process

ENTRY ALLOWANCE

10 teams’ maximum entry. The OA reserves the right to increase to increase the maximum number of entries. Entries will be based on the following:

The most recent publication of the World Sailing Match Racing Open Ranking;

If multiple teams are unranked, priority will be given to teams of different universities to those already entered (on ranking) or being considered for entry.

If all teams are of different universities to those already entered (on ranking) or being considered for entry then entry will be given to the teams which pay the hire fee (See the BUSA Website for further details of this) first.

ENTRY PROCESS – TEAM EVENTS

To apply for this competition:

  1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to submit your entry.
  3. A Team Captain must be selected as part of the team before entries close. This must be the skipper and they must input their World Sailing Ranking ID.
  4. Competitors then need to apply for their respective team. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

The NoR will be published on the event page which also contains some rules and regulations that must be abided by. SIs and any amendments will be posted on the official noticeboard.

 

Withdrawals

WITHDRAWALS

Withdrawals must be made in writing (Email), via your institution administrator, to Jodie Lawrence.

Withdrawals made before the team entry deadline of 1st February 2024 will not be charged the entry fee. Withdrawals made after this point will be charged the full entry and charter fee.
