For double handed boats, BOTH helm and crew must enter the event on BUCS Play and when prompted in the entry form, please name who your helm/crew is.
Thursday 30 October 2025 at 23:59 – Institution Administrator Deadline
(Institutional Administrators are given 48 hours after the student / competitor deadline to approve entries)
For double handed boats, IAs must rank the individuals in the boats accordingly, i.e. if two double handed boats are being entered, the first pair of competitors in 1 boat should be ranked as 1, 1 and the second as 2, 2.
Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.

£115 per double handed boat

Entry Allowance
Entries are limited to 115 boats on a first come first serve basis, after which a waiting list will apply.
Entry Process
To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:
- Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list
Any data will be handled in accordance with BUCS Privacy Policy

Additional Information for BUCS Play
When entering, competitors will be prompted to answer the following questions.
- What fleet type are you in? (Firefly, ILCA (Laser), Fast Handicap, Slow Handicap)
- What class of boat are you sailing? (E.g. Firefly, ILCA 6, RS Aero 5, RS 200)
- Are you sailing single handed or double handed?
- What is the helm’s name?
- What is the crew’s name? Please answer N/A if you are sailing single handed.

Photography & Videography
Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.
BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
