This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above.

Entry Process

To apply for this competition:

  1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to submit your entry.
  3. A Team Captain must be selected as part of the team before entries close.
  4. Competitors then need to apply for their respective team. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

BUCS Points Available

BUCS Points are awarded to the top 24 teams across an entire gender category, rather than separately by competition.

A full breakdown is available in Appendix 1.

Rules & Regulations

Rugby League 9s Rules and Regulations

Differences from the men’s game will remain consistent with the previous Women’s 9s tournament. These include the removal of the power play, the use of half-size pitches, and modified scoring.

All competitors should be familiar with and understand available gender categories and regulations under REG 4.3. Please find further information on gender eligibility here.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals received before the team join deadline of Thursday 24th September at 23:59pm will not be charged the entry fee.

Withdrawals received after the team join deadline of Thursday 24th September will still be charged the entry fee. Withdrawals after the IA approval deadline of Thursday 1st October, and any no-shows on the day, will be charged the entry fee and an additional £50 fine.

Photography & Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event. Once you have completed the form, please go to the BUCS Desk at the event to receive your media accreditation.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
