This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above.

This tournament is open to first teams only from the National League and Tier 1 (North/South) leagues. Due to venue space, this event is capped at a maximum of 12 entries. If this capacity is reached, the highest ranked teams from finishing positions in the 2025-26 season will be selected. 

(Please note, any teams from Tier 1 that do not compete in the Championship event will be eligible for the Trophy 9s event later in the season).

To apply for this competition:

1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to submit your entry.
3. A Team Captain must be selected as part of the team before entries close.
4. Competitors then need to apply for their respective team. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

BUCS Points are awarded to the top 24 teams across an entire gender category, rather than separately by competition. This means that for Rugby League 9s, the top 24 teams from all competition levels within a gender category will be combined into a single ranking table. Trophy teams cannot finish higher than a team entered into the Championship.

All competitors should be familiar with and understand available gender categories and regulations under REG 4.3. Please find further information on gender eligibility here.

Withdrawals received before the team join deadline of Thursday 17^th September at 23:59pm will not be charged the entry fee.

Withdrawals received after the team join deadline of Thursday 17^th September will still be charged the entry fee. Withdrawals after the IA approval deadline of Thursday 24^th September, and any no-shows on the day, will be charged the entry fee and an additional £50 fine.

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event. Once you have completed the form, please go to the BUCS Desk at the event to receive your media accreditation.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
