ENTRY COSTS
£228 per team [Stage 1]
STAGED ENTRY
This competition operates a staged entry process. Entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date (Thursday 20 April 2023) will be accepted where the competition allows. If the competition allows stage 2 will open with a closing date of Thursday 4 May 2023. Please note stage 2 will only open if the competition allows after the closing date for stage 1. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received after the Stage 1 entry closing date, if accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.
WITHDRAWALS
After the entry deadline, BUCS will fine £100 for every planned fixture missed.
Fines for Teams withdrawing due to injury on the day will be at the discretion of the organisers.
Entry Allowance
ENTRY ALLOWANCE
Institutions are only allowed to enter one team into each competition. Players are not allowed to play in both the Championship and the Trophy competitions.
Women’s Trophy
This tournament is open to second teams from BUCS Premier (North/South), and all teams from Tier 1 & below leagues.
The maximum number of teams in this competition will be 20 teams. Each team can have a maximum of 12 players in a squad and a minimum of 8 players.
If this competition reaches capacity, the highest ranked teams from finishing positions in the 2022-23 season will be selected.
Confirmed entries will be published after the entry deadline and displayed on the BUCS Rugby Sevens Trophy Event Page.
Men’s Trophy
This tournament is open to second teams from BUCS Premier (North/South) 1, and all teams from Premier (North/South) 2 & below leagues.
The maximum number of teams in this competition will be 20 teams. Each team can have a maximum of 12 players in a squad and a minimum of 8 players.
If this competition reaches capacity, the highest ranked teams from finishing positions in the 2022-23 season will be selected.

Entry Process
ENTRY PROCESS
Entries can only be submitted on BUCS Play, our online entry system. Please speak to your Athletic Union as they will need to submit your entry on this system and it is their responsibility to manage the whole entry process.
To apply for this competition:
- Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to submit your entry.
- A Team Captain must be selected as part of the team before entries close.
- Competitors then need to apply for their respective team. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
No entries will be accepted after the closing date under any circumstances, including entries on the day.
