If the limit is lowered, entries will be allocated at the organiser’s discretion, with each university able to enter one full team of each gender, with additional places being allocated once this has been done.
  • Maximum Pentathletes is provisionally set to 40 (maximum possible number of riders). Ride place swill be allocated at the organiser’s discretion, based on the following criteria:

    • Initially, a maximum of 4 men and 4 women per university will be allocated, with any additional entries being offered if there is capacity.
    • Any pentathletes entered for whom there is not space to ride will be entered into the tetrathlon.
  • Maximum Pentathletes and Tetrathletes will be restricted to 60.

Pentathlon GB membership

All pentathlon and tetrathlon competitors will need to have PGB membership prior to applications being submitted, and enter through the PGB Sport80 platofrm, logging the appropriate certificates. With the course being 90cm, we are happy to accept the Novice Ride Certificate, with 90cm completed or the U17/Masters certificate which is also 90cm. Athletes will also need a Level 2 fencing certificate as well as a laser shoot certificate.

Student membership is available as an annual subscription, from Pentathlon GB’s webpage. Entries will only be valid if all relevant certificates are logged with Pentathlon GB and the competitor has also registered through their system AND BUCS play before the deadline.

Entries through the Pentathlon GB system will not be valid on their own – competitors also need to enter through BUCS play for their entry to be valid.
