Events & BUCS Points Available
The following events are available to enter, across both Men's and Women's Categories:
Championship
Trophy
BUCS Points are awarded to the top 24 teams across an entire gender category, rather than separately by competition, e.g. If there are 16 teams in the Championship, points are awarded to all of these teams, followed by the top 8 teams in the Trophy competition. The allocation is as follows:
The full allocation can be found in Appendix 1.
Entry Allowance
Institutions can enter more than one men’s and one women’s team. If the event reaches capacity BUCS reserves the right to cut entries. If entries are cut, entry priority will be given in the following order:
- Championship teams from 2025-26 (first team only)
- Trophy teams from 2025-26 (first team only)
- New Institutions first teams
- Institution second/third etc teams
Institution Administrators (IA) must enter the desired number of teams on BUCS Play.
Cap on Entries
The competition will be capped at 24 teams total across both levels of competition, per gender. Based on entry numbers, BUCS and England Lacrosse will decide on the split of teams per Championship and Trophy.
This may be different across genders, based on the number of entries received, but will be a split of 8 and 16 teams across Championship and Trophy. The entry allowance above will still apply should there be a need to cut teams, however teams may be offered a different level of competition if the level they applied for is oversubscribed.
