Team Entry

Thursday 22 October at 23:59 – Stage 1 Team Entry Deadline

(Deadline for teams to have been entered on BUCS Play by an Institution Administrator)

Teams entered by the Stage 1 Team Entry Deadline will be guaranteed a place and will be allocated to a preliminary round that is geographically appropriate (where possible).

Thursday 5 November at 23:59 – Stage 2 Team Entry Deadline

Should the competition have capacity for more teams, a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee. Please note that Stage 2 teams will be placed in a preliminary round event that has not reached capacity.

Individual Entry

Tuesday before your competition at 23:59 – Team Join Deadline

• Tuesday 24 November for South West & Wales, Scotland, North and South Midlands
• Tuesday 1 December for North, Yorkshire, and East

(Players to have joined the respective event on BUCS Play)

Thursday before your competition at 23:59 – Admin Approval Deadline

• Thursday 26 November for South West & Wales, Scotland, North and South Midlands
• Thursday 3 December for North, Yorkshire, and East

(Players to have been approved and assigned in a team by an Institution Administrator on BUCS Play)

£430 per team

There has been a change to the allocation of BUCS Points for Team Championships (Events) for the 2026-27 season. Under the revised model, BUCS Points are now awarded across an entire gender category at each Championships as a whole, with teams from all levels of competition combined into a single ranking. Please see Appendix 1 and REG 6 for more information and to see the available BUCS Points. 

If the event was to be oversubscribed, first teams will be accepted first to ensure as many institutions can compete. Second teams will then be accepted up to event capacity on a first-come, first-served basis.

To apply for this competition:

1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to enter the correct number of teams for you.
3. Competitors then need to apply for the respective event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
4. Institution Administrators must assign competitors to the correct team during the approval process. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

BUCS Korfball Rules and Regulations

All competitors should be familiar with and understand available gender categories and regulations under REG 4.3. Please find further information on gender eligibility here.

As per KOR 6, any teams that withdrawal after the Stage 2 Team Entry Deadline (23:59 Thursday 5 November) will be fined £100.

KOR 6 Fines Teams withdrawing after the entry deadline are liable to fines as follows:

• National Championships: £300
• National Trophy: £250
• National Shield: £200
• Preliminary Round, Regional Round, and Northern/Southern Qualifiers: £100

The BSKA will determine whether an institution should be fined, and BUCS will administer any fines.

Remember to bring student ID cards for each player – players will not be permitted to play them.

Please bring the match forms and registration forms which will be emailed to you at least a week before the day of the tournament.

KOR 2.4.3 All the teams that participate in the Preliminary Round will progress to either the Regional Round or the Northern/Southern Qualifiers. The two highest finishing 1st teams at each preliminary competition will progress to the Regional Round. Of the remaining teams, the three highest finishing teams at each preliminary competition will also progress to the Regional Round, with all other teams progressing to the Northern/Southern Qualifiers.

Shirt colour must be the same for the whole team, with unique numbers clearly visible. Competitors will also be asked for their shirt number when entering on BUCS Play – if this is not known at time of entry, answer should be N/A.

Prizes will be given for:

• Top male goal scorer
• Top female goal scorer
• Male MVP
• Female MVP

This will be released closer to the competition date.

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event. Once you have completed the form, please go to the BUCS Desk at the event to receive your media accreditation.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
