Please Note: Due to venue availability and a lack of teams, the Wales Preliminary Round has been removed, and there will be only 7 preliminary rounds. Please see the accepted entry list for your allocated preliminary round, and the event guide for more information. BUCS and the BSKA apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Preliminary Dates & Venues

There will be seven preliminary rounds to begin the season, with teams assigned to a prelim based upon geographical location. The dates and venues are as follows: 

  • Scotland & the Greater North: 

Date: 26th November 2022

  • The North: 

Date: 3rd December 2022

Venue: The Edge, University Of Leeds, University of Leeds, Willow Terrace Road, Willow Terrace Rd, Leeds LS2 9JT

  • South Yorkshire & Mersey: 

Date: 11th December 2022

Venue: All Saints Sports Centre, 95 Norfolk Park Rd, Sheffield S2 2RU

  • South & West Midlands:

Date: 4th December 2022

Venue: Iffley Road Sports Centre, University of Oxford, Iffley Rd, Oxford OX4 1EQ

  • East:

Date: 10th December 2022

Venue: David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham, University Park Nottingham, NG7 2RD

  • South East: 

Date: 3rd December 2022

Venue: University of Kent, Sports Centre, Canterbury CT2 7NL

  • South West: 

Date: 3rd December 2022

Venue: University of Exeter Sports Park, Stocker Rd, Exeter, EX4 4QL

Entry Dates & Costs

ENTRY OPENING DATE:

Tuesday 25th October 2022

ENTRY CLOSING DATE:

Thursday 17th November 2022 at 23.59 - Team Entry Deadline (Institution Administrator to submit a team on BUCS Play by this date)

Tuesday 22nd November 2022 at 23.59 - Player Entry / Approval Deadline (Players to have applied to join the team and been approved by a team captain/institution administrator)

ENTRY COSTS

£460.00 per team

This competition will NOT operate a staged entry process. As such, please ensure all entries are submitted through BUCS Play prior to the closing date listed above.

Entry Allowance

Institutions can request an unlimited number of entries, however should the event reach capacity BUCS & the BSKA may need to restrict the number of entries per institution.

Should the event be oversubscribed, priority is given to all 1st teams. The remaining spaces shall be disributed evenly between institutions submitting multiple teams. If there are more spaces remaining and too many teams still wishing to enter, these will be picked using a random draw.

Please ensure you are familiar with these ahead of the first preliminary round for your team, as they may differ from regular Korfball leagues.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals should be made in writing (Email) by your institution administrator to the event lead, Chris Lamb.

Withdrawals made prior to the team entry deadline (17 November 2022 at 23:59pm) will not be charged the entry fee.

Withdrawals made after the team entry deadline (17 November 2022 at 23:59pm) will still be charged the entry fee. A fine will also be assessed per team, based on the date of the withdrawal:

  • Prior to the preliminary rounds: £100 fine
  • Prior to the regional rounds: £100 fine
  • Prior to the National Plate: £200 fine
  • Prior to the National Trophy: £250 fine
  • Prior to the National Championship: £300 fine

This is to cover the cost to the BSKA of re-arrangements/scheduling and hall costs.
