Registration

Teams must provide student ID cards for each player – please remember to bring these, players will not be permitted to play unless they present a valid student ID card.

Please bring match forms and registration forms which will be emailed to teams at least a week before the day of their tournament.

Other registration details to note:

  • Teams must be affiliated with the BSKA
  • Teams are entered through BUCS Play through your institution
  • BUCS Play individual player registration will close the Tuesday before the corresponding tournament, with the individual player approval deadline being the Thursday before the tournament.

Schedules

All Nationals rounds will follow a similar broad timetable for the day. Specific timetables with match times will be shared to the relevant competing teams closer to the event dates.

Each tier consists of 2 days of competition running 9am-5pm with a rough timetable of:

09:00 – Arrival, Setup, Registration

09:10 – Captain & Coaches Briefing

09:20 – Referee Meeting & General Warmup

09:30 – 1st round of matches begin

~12:30 – Lunch Break

13:20 – 2nd round of matches begin

16:30 – Matches end

16:35 –Remove equipment, Tidy and Leave Facility

Withdrawals

To withdraw from the event, please contact your Institution Administrator who should inform the event lead.

Parking

Championship Finals – Parking is available at pay and display car parks across Newcastle with the closest being St George’s Terrace. There is no parking available on site

Trophy Finals – There is a small near sports centre car park and a further Sports field car park located off green lane. Sport Lancaster customers that park in the immediate car park of the overflow car park get 2 hours free, with an additional 2 hours free when vehicle registrations are inputted into the tablet at the reception desk. Anything beyond the 4 hours total needs to be paid for on the RingGo app.

Shield Finals – Free on street parking outside Sugden Sports Centre. Alternatively, the Aquatics Centre Car Park, £8 for 9 hours.

Food and Drink

Championship Finals – There are food options nearby on the university campus and shops a 10-minute walk away

Trophy Finals – Range of café and food options on university campus, including shops, all roughly a 10-minute walk from sports centre

Shield Finals – Vending machines on site, Tesco Express a 2-minute walk away

Clothing

Shirt colour must be the same for the whole team, with unique numbers clearly visible.

Presentations

Prizes will be given for:

  • Top male goal scorer
  • Top female goal scorer
  • Male MVP
  • Female MVP

Photography & Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.

  • All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
  • We have used local suppliers where possible
  • Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use
  • We are beginning to track our carbon footprint across BUCS events to identify areas of improvement.

  • Be self-sufficient by bringing your own refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste.
  • Ensure you are disposing of waste correctly – Check around the venue for specific recycling and food waste bins.
