Staged Entry
STAGED ENTRY
Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee.

Grade 2 (3 apparatus) – Compete in 3 out of 4 apparatus (choose on entry)
Grade 3 (2 apparatus) – Vault and Floor
Grade 4 (2 apparatus) – Vault and Floor
Men:
Grade 1 (6 apparatus) –Vault, Parallel Bars, Floor, Rings, Pommel, High Bar
Grade 2 (4 apparatus) – Compete in 4 out of 6 apparatus (choose on entry)
Grade 3 (2 apparatus) – Vault and Floor

Team results are calculated by extracting the top four competitors scores from each institution in grades 1 or 2. More details can be found in the rules and regulations here.
Entry allowance
ENTRY ALLOWANCE
Institutions can enter and unlimited number of entries. However, should the event be oversubscribed BUCS will reserve the right to limit the number of competitors based on the number of universities who have entered.
Please ensure you submit entries in all competitions in order of preference. This means that when submitting entries, institution administrators should rank competitors in order of preference (e.g 1, 2, 3, 4).
Entry process
ENTRY PROCESS – INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:
- Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
- BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list
Any data will be handled in accordance with BUCS Privacy Policy

Withdrawals
WITHDRAWALS
Competitor withdrawals must be made by a competitors athletic/students union by emailing the event lead.
Please see REG 7.9 for our withdrawal policy
Competitors who withdraw after 23:59 on the 15 January 2025 or do not attend the competition will be classed as a late withdrawal/no show and therefore will be charged the entry fee and fined £50.
Withdrawals from Grades 3 & 4 can be replaced by a reserve from their institution who has been accepted on the reserve list. They cannot be replaced by anyone who has not already entered on BUCS Play and or has not been accepted into the event.
Reserves will only be charged an entry fee if they are accepted into the competition.
Grade 2 entries
