Course

A red grade (advanced) trail will be used.

The course being used include:

  • Start of Scrubaduck
  • Into Wild card (majority of ride)
  • Into Draft
  • The end Black power

Registration

Registration is open from 8:30-14:30 on Wednesday 15th March.

Competitors must bring their Student ID with them to registration

British Cycling licenses, for those who have one, must be presented when registering at the event

You will collect your transponder from registration on the Wednesday and keep it until the end of your race on Thursday. You are not required to register again on the Thursday if you have already registered the day before. Pease ensure you are at the start position ready for your allocated start time for the qualifying run.

Start Times

Start times for the qualifying run will be availableon the afternooon of the 15th March.

Please check back here before the event to check your start time.

It is the competitors' responsibility to ensure they arrive ready at the start for their allocated time.

Championship Format

All riders will get 1 qualifying run, with the top 100 male and top 100 female riders qualifying for the Championship run. Final places will be determined based on the Championship run times. ALL riders MUST do a minimum of 2 practice runs e.g. one on each day or both the day before, in order to race in the Qualifying and Championship runs.

Individuals will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team. Please note the team compositions as detailed in the Regualtions.

Timing

There will be live timing for practice and racing provided by Action Sports Timing using transponders that will are attached to the bikes fork leg. It’s responsibility of the rider to look after it. Any lost transponders will be charged at £100 each.

Marshals

Each institution entering 5 riders or more must supply a minimum of one marshal for the duration of the practice and race days. Failure to do this may result in an institution being refused entry to the race, or disqualification from the race. 

Marshals will receive £30 payment per day (this includes covering any travel expenses they may have incurred), lunch and snacks.

British Cycling Membership/Race License

Competitors do not need to be a member of British Cycling, however those who hold a Full Racing License should have already supplied these details as part of the BUCS Play entry form in order to be eligible for earning licence ranking points. These licenses must be presented when registering at the event.

Withdrawals

If you are no longer able to compete, please contact your Institution Administrator who should inform the event lead.

Parking

Limited parking is available directly at the venue. Overflow parking with be available with signage to direct you. Parking is free of charge. Please car share where possible and consider others when parking.

Changing Facilities

Toilets are available on site. Please note, showers are not available. 

Food & Drink

There will be catering available on site to purchase food and drink

Presentations

Presentations will take place at 4pm on Thursday 16th March. The following categories will be awarded:

  • Men’s Individual
  • Women’s Individual
  • Men’s Overall Team
  • Women’s Overall Team

Individuals will automatically be entered into the team competitions, provided there are enough eligible individuals from that institution to comprise a team.

Alumni Entry

This years event is open to those who graduated last academic year (2022) only.

Alumni entries are only permitted to partake in practice runs and the qualifying run. Alumni are not eligible to qualify for the championships run and cannot obtain BUCS Points. Should there be enough alumni entries, times will be extracted from the qualifying run to determine placings. These will be presented during th medal presentations as per the schedule.

Equipment

It is compulsory for all riders to wear a full-face helmet. This must be supplied by the rider themselves. Without a full-face helmet you will not be permitted to compete in the event.
