Finals

PROGRESSION TO FINALS

Progression to the finals in the evening will be calculated using scores from your climbing session. The top 6 male and female climbers progress to the final. Competitors are welcome to stay and spectate – There will be an area set aside to accommodate this.

For the finals, we have two judges outside of an institution to remove any bias and this will allow for a seamless yet gripping final!

Presentations will take place immediately after the final climb-offs, at around 22:00. Presentations will be made for the Male & Female Winners, and the Male & Female Team Overall Team Winners.

Sustainability

The sustainability of our event matters to us and these are the positive steps we are taking to manage our environmental impact:

  • All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
  • We have used local suppliers where possible
  • Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use
  • We will print on demand merchandise (if applicable)
  • We are beginning to track our carbon footprint across BUCS events to identify areas of improvement.

How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:

  • Be self-sufficient by bringing your own refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste
  • Ensure you are disposing of waste correctly – general waste, recycling and food waste bins are available around the venue
  • Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport!
Go paperless - use your phone for all event information

Clothing

It is requested that any vests/university branded clothing is worn, particularly for the finals should you qualify for this. Please, if possible, bring any university kit to wear and represent your institution!

Clean Sport at BUCS Nationals 2026

As you step onto the national stage at BUCS Nationals, remember that performing at your best means competing clean. You are responsible for every substance that enters your body, so take a moment to protect yourself: check any medication you plan to use on Global DRO, think carefully before using supplements, and ensure you know your rights and responsibilities when it comes to anti-doping testing.

UK Anti-Doping’s 100% me principles are here to support you—helping you make confident, informed choices so nothing gets in the way of your performance.

If something doesn’t feel right, or you have concerns, speak up and Protect Your Sport. Competing clean isn’t just about following the rules—it’s about respecting yourself, your competitors, and the sport you love.
