BUCS Points

Individual Championships (Men’s and Women’s)

Overall Team (Men’s and Women’s)

BUCS Points available for the aforementioned categories for individual championships are:

  • 1st Place

12 Points

  • 2nd Place

8 Points

  • 3rd Place

6 Points

  • 4th Place

4 Points

Points will be available for para-athletes where applicable.

Please note that BUCS Points will not be allocated where the minimum number of competitors/teams has not been reached, or where there are not enough individual scores to extract a team score. Furthermore, an individual/team must have beaten another individual/team to score BUCS Points (i.e. if 3 individuals/teams compete in an event, only 2 will score BUCS Points). This does not apply to extracted teams. Individuals/teams are regarded as having competed if they started the event; therefore DNS will not be regarded as having competed.

Competition Format

This competition will be the sporting discipline of shooting.

The BUCS Clay Pigeon Shooting Championships will take place over two days to allow us to accommodate greater numbers of students and alumni. Each university will only be required to shoot on one day. You will be asked to submit your preference on the BUCS Play entry form. BUCS will allocate days and times based on these preferences, however due to safety restrictions relating to competitor numbers it may not be possible to accommodate all preferences.

Please note; when submitting entries an institution’s competitors may be allocated a shooting time on either day. Therefore competitors will need to be available for both the Saturday and Sunday of the competition.

A competitor’s event competition day will be confirmed alongside the entry guide.

Squadding

Competitors will be divided into squads for the duration of the competition. When individuals enter the competition on BUCS Play, there will be the opportunity to select your top three preferences for shooting times. Institutions will then be required to sort competitors on BUCS Play into squads of six. BUCS will try to accommodate these squad requests wherever possible, but we cannot guarantee that first preferences will be possible in all situations. If you are entering competitors as individuals, or as a squad less than six competitors, you will be merged with other universities. Please note; this does not affect your team score.

Institution Administrators:

Please squad your team by writing '1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1' in the ranking boxes next to one squad, '2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2' in the ranking boxes next to squad two, '3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3' in the ranking boxes next to squad three, and so on.
