Entry Allowance

Entries for this competition are capped. Each category is limited to eight competitors. A maximum of one entry per institution per category will be accepted. Two non-guaranteed places (reserves) from each institution can be named in each category. Please rank on BUCS Play your preference for each category.

Where possible we will run a category B championship in categories that are oversubscribed to ensure all reserves have the opportunity to box in the tournament. There will be no points awarded in these categories but will provide an opportunity for reserve boxers to compete in the competition should there be an appropriate opponent.

If the categories are oversubscribed BUCS will accept entries based on bouts won / lost ratio as recorded on the competitor's card. Reserves will only be charged an entry fee if they are accepted into the competition. Late entries will not be accepted.

If a category has not reached capacity, listed reserves from institutions will be permitted where space allows. BUCS will accept reserves based on bouts won / lost ratio as recorded on the competitors card.

No entries will be accepted on the day.

Open to competitors at BUCS member institutions. All boxers wishing to enter the BUCS championship, must be registered with and have a valid license with the International or National Governing Body of their Home Nation, as well as a Boxer Competition Record book which details their competitive experience, to include any previous competitive experience from other combat sports.

All coaches must hold current qualifications and have in their possession the relevant NGB lanyard to prove they are in date.

Important Information:

Following a review of entries, and after consultation with England Boxing and the Competition Directors for the event, the decision has been made to change the 8-15 bout category for Men and the 6-10 bout category for Women to box at 3 x 2 min rounds. This is to help with scheduling of the event and also more closely falls in line with the Development Category for England Boxing (0 – 20 bouts = 3x2mins).

Following this event there will be a review of this for future championships.
