Captain’s information

Welcome to the BUCS Athletics: Outdoor Championships 2025!

The Captain (or Team Manager) should collect their institution's individual bib numbers from the BUCS Registration Desk in the Event Office. There will be a member of BUCS staff based here all weekend should you need to come and ask any questions.

Things for Captain’s to be aware of for the 2025 competition:

  • Withdrawal forms [Must be completed via the online form on the Withdrawals/Substitutions and Clashing Events tab 120 minutes before event is scheduled to start]
  • Substitution forms [Must be completed via the online form on the Withdrawals/Substitutions and Clashing Events tab 120 minutes before event is scheduled to start]
  • Clashing Events forms will still be submitted on paper for the 2025 event. You can pick one of these up at the Registration desk in the Event Office.
  • After a successful trial at Indoors we will be continuing with live field event results at the event. Please look out for the big scoreboards located around the infield which will be displaying this information!
  • Relay declaration forms for the heats must now be submitted online! You can find the form on the Relay drop down tab on the Event Guide. If you make the final you will need to re-declare your team by coming to the BUCS Registration desk.

We have a limited supply of safety pins at the Registration desk.

Each competitor must wear their individual competition number as stated on the entry lists. Athletes will wear the same competition number in every event they compete in. Each athlete will only be given one pair of numbers so they must keep them for all events and finals. If you lose your race number a new set  can be printed at the Registration desk in the Event Office for £2.

In the event of a substitution, the athlete being substituted in must wear their OWN number and not change to the original entrants’ number. In the relays, teams will be allocated team letters (not numbers) which should be retained for the final.

  • Competition Information - Seeding, draws and progressions details
  • Call Room instructions
  • Call Room schedule

The Captain's Meeting will be held 14:30-15:00 on 05/05/25 in the Squash Court area at the far side of the indoor warm-up area.

Please queue outside the double doors and wait to be let in by a member of BUCS event staff.
