This year’s BUCS Small Boats Head will see a significant change from previous seasons. Instead of the weekend at Boston incorporating the GBRT Assessment and a Third Division dedicated to BUCS rowers, results will be extracted from 2 events as detailed below:
• 2x Men’s and Women’s Heavyweight and Lightweight results will be extracted from the Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships at Dorney Lake, 20 October 2012.

• 1x Men’s and Women’s Heavyweight and Lightweight results will be extracted from the GBRT assessment Boston Rowing Club, 24-25 November 2012. There will be an ergo assessment on Saturday 24 November and then a 5km water test in singles on the Sunday 25 November (BUCS will extract results from this).

Saturday 24 November 2012 – GBRT Assessment 2km Ergo Test
Sunday 25 November 2012 – GBRT Assessment – 5km Water Test in singles

Ergo Tests – Princess Royal Sports Arena, Great Fen Road, Boston, Lincs. PE21 7PB
5km Water Test – Boston Rowing Club. Carlton Road, Boston, Lincs. PE21 8LL.
ELIGIBILITY:
These Championships are open to students at institutions in membership of BUCS, who meet the eligibility regulations outlined in the BUCS Handbook and website.
As noted above all entries for the GB assessment must be made via the British Rowing Online Entry system AND on BUCScore if the competitor wishes to be considered for BUCS Medals and Points.
REGULATIONS:

ENTRIES:
Entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis up to a safety limit to be confirmed by the organisers.
ENTRY FEES:
There is no fee payable to BUCS – fees are paid via BROE
GBRT Assessment at Boston - £10 per seat.
CLOSING DATE:
BROE – 15 November 2012 5pm
BUCScore – 23 November 2012 5pm
AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded to competitors finishing in the top three places in each of the BUCS events as long as there are more than 3 entries into the event.
BUCS points will be awarded to the top four places. In the absence of an Intermediate category in the event – multiple entries in the Championship categories are permitted but it should be noted that only the highest placed University crew results will count for BUCS points.

BUCS single scullers will have their results extracted from this race to be included in the BUCS Championships.

PARKING & USE OF FACILITIES:
GB Rowing Team will provide security for boats on Saturday night at Boston Rowing Club.
GENERAL:
Competitors, their clubs, or Athletic Unions are responsible for all travel, accommodation and subsistence costs. BUCS cannot accept responsibility for personal loss or injury while attending a BUCS event.
Diamond Jubilee Rowing Championships 2x Results
The BUCS 2x results were extracted from the finals of the 2x racing with Cardiff Uni M2x Josh Bugajski and Rob Massey taking the Gold by finishing 4th in the A final. Behind them in the B final were 3 University crews – the two crews from Imperial fighting it out for the Lightweight title – the win going to Wilf Kimberley and Tim Richards who beat Paul Jones and Miles Holbrough by just 2 seconds with the Durham crew of Barney Stentiford and Angus Groom finishing between the Imperial crews and taking the silver medal in the M2x.
In the women's races the Reading girls Bethan Walters and Lucy Cruxton finished 2nd in the C final to take the W2x gold medal with crews from Bath and Imperial taking the silver and bronze respectively. The competition in the WLwt2x was strong with four out of the six crews in the A final of the women's 2x event racing at Lightweights. The BUCS title went to the Newcastle double of Gemma Hall and Rosie Rust with the Reading girls Rose Wiloughby and Molly Lynn-Manuel taking the silver.
