Overview

Sabre the moment and advance your way to the top of the BUCS Fencing Programme.

The fencing programme has many different opportunties for students to get involved with the sport.
It has a team competition which is a part of the leagues and knockouts. The national league concludes its knockout series at BUCS Big Wednesday.
For those students who want to compete as individual competitions, this is a part of the Nationals held in February.

For London based students, the London Universities Sports League (LUSL) also offers an alternative way to compete in fencing.

Update on BUCS 2020-21 Season

Individual Championships:
This season's individual championships will run as a regional competition culminating in a smaller final.
We are working closely with British Fencing around the exact format of the competition
More information will be released in due course.

Leagues and Knockouts

The Fencing league programme will run in Term Two only and there will not be any promotion or relegation between leagues at the end of the season. These decisions were communicated with our members in June.

The format for the programme has been confirmed to members and the 2020-21 leagues and fixtures will be released on Friday 15 January. Fixtures will be scheduled from 17 February, but these will be flexible to individual institutional requirements.

All fixtures will be subject to any institutional, NGB, UK government, devolved administration or local authority rules, regulations and guidance in relation to COVID-19 in place at the time.
