At the end of the Rhine-Ruhr tennis competition it was time to hand out the team medals, this is decided by how your team as a whole has done throughout the whole competition.
The men’s tennis delegation for GB Students was made up by Jamie Conell, Toby Samuel and Rahul Dhokia (Durham University). Toby competed in just the men’s single, Jamie the singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles and Rahul alongside Jamie in the men’s doubles.
Unfortunately the men’s doubles of Jamie and Rahul were knocked out in the first round by the host country Germany. The mixed doubles were more successful making their way to the quarter finals before being beat out by the Portuguese.
And if you havent heard already we had very successful run in the men’s singles with Jamie Conell picking up a bronze medal and Toby Samuel a silver medal.
These achievement were enough to earn the men’s team an overall silver medal to take home with them.
Overall the stunning ETUF Tennisanlage was an unbeliveable loaction which turned out to be not only a great display of university tennis but a successful run for GB Students. This team really were all in at Rhine-Ruhr 2025 from first serve to the final point.
