McSweeney heading to Wembley 22/05/2008

As Stockport County and Rochdale football clubs prepare for the League 2 Playoff final next Monday, one player will be hoping his experience from his university days will aid him in taking his club into League One.

Leon McSweeney (Loughborough) was the Daily Telegraph Man of the Match in the BUSA football final in 2005, as his Loughborough team defeated UW Swansea on penalties at Stevenage Town FC. McSweeney also played in the BUSA football finals in 2006 at Loftus road, as Loughborough retained the title defeating Bath 2-1.

McSweeney, who played 79 minutes of the crucial Playoff Semi-Final victory at Edgely Park, signed for Stockport County in December 2007 and has played 17 league and cup games since then.  McSweeney was a member of the English Universities set up and BUSA would like to wish him the best of luck on Bank Holiday Monday in the Play-off Final.
