Here at UPSU there are 49 student led sports clubs, as our Activities Coordinator (Sports), you will be focussed on supporting these clubs grow and develop.
A core part of the role will be to administrate the BUCS Leagues and Competitions
Main duties will include:
• To organise and administrate weekly BUCS fixtures, liaising with facility staff, match officials, other universities and team captains.
• To ensure transport is provided for all students travelling to attend fixtures or individual competitions.
• To collate BUCS results and input them onto BUCS Play by the deadline.
• To provide support to teams on BUCS regulations and fixture queries.
• To enter students into individual competitions through BUCS Play.
• To act as a point of contact for any BUCS related queries throughout the week.
• To inform sports clubs of any upcoming competitions or deadlines as and when required.
• To ensure all captains receive training prior to the start of the season
• To ensure up to date on all BUCS communications and react to any deadlines.
• To process all invoices relating to BUCS competitions and facilities.
• To ensure all administrative records are kept up to date and are produced as required ensuring an efficient, accountable service.
• Develop effective relationships with external organisations who can support the development of University Competitive teams/individual sport for example facility providers, National Governing Bodies.
• To increase performance of competitive teams/individual sport by providing the opportunity for individuals to gain coaching qualifications, supporting team trials and working with lower performing teams.
• To explore the opportunity of utilising and providing experience for University students on professional and sports related courses to support teams.
