Description

The role of the Duty Supervisor is to supervise, motivate and support Sports Service staff, ensuring that operational, health and safety and security protocols are implemented effectively. They will ensure that high standards of customer care are exhibited throughout the facilities to create a welcoming, professional and safe environment for users.

The role holder will also work closely with the Estates staff to manage the Health and Safety, maintenance and environmental management procedures and processes throughout the facilities.

Duty Supervisors are also allocated specific teams or operational functions to oversee.

Hours of work are based on a shift pattern that includes early mornings, late evenings, weekend and bank holiday shifts.

The Duty Supervisor will deal with issues that may arise at all University of Cambridge Sports Service sites, (Sport Centre, Fenner's and Wilberforce Road Sports Grounds) during evenings and weekends.

Applicants should have experience of managing internal and external sports facilities. They should also have a range of NGB coaching certificates, industry recognised management certificates or fitness qualifications.

Applicants should also possess a First Aid at Work qualification, Automated Emergency Defibrillator qualification and a Health and Safety Qualification, or the ability to achieve these.

Duty Supervisors are expected to have excellent communication skills and the ability to proactively encourage and guide staff, deal with a range of customers, and handle difficult situations effectively with tact and diplomacy.
