Teesside Sport has a history of providing fantastic athlete support and scholarship opportunities for elite and developing athletes, as well as support, guidance, and collaboration on several internal and external sporting projects designed to provide students and young people with a positive experience and the opportunity to continue their sporting development.

Teesside Sport are looking for a qualified strength and conditioning coach who can provide practitioner support to varying groups of young and aspiring athletes within this discipline.

Looking after the Performance Sport Scholarship and selected athletes, the individual will create and deliver bespoke programmes for the students, as well as overseeing other coaching and practitioner staff within the service. As well as the delivery of strength and conditioning services, the individual taking up the coordinator role with be required to deliver core administration, logistical planning, athlete engagement and management and development of the varying performance sport schemes the department is involved in. The aim of the projects is to provide effective athlete support and the opportunity to develop and succeed, as well as providing a fantastic student experience or engaging positively with local athletes, organisations and practitioners continuing to develop the institutions sporting reputation.

Applicants should have experience within a performance sport setting, working closely with athletes and driving projects forwards. They should also be knowledgeable about working with younger athletes and athlete development, as well as having a passion for delivering sporting activity to a wide audience across multiple sports. They should have previous experience of sports administration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience of working with other internal and external sporting practitioners. Similarly, the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively, drive projects forward and consider appropriate planning of marketing and communication around these opportunities.
