This is an exciting new role to lead a new Sport and Physical Activity Department in line with the recently developed Sports Strategy for Liverpool John Moores University.
A new Sport Centre will open in June 2021 and this is an exciting time to be joining LJMU. The new role will include the leading of a new Sport and Physical Activity Department, management of the sports facilities, planning for new facilities, leading an exciting physical activity programmes as well as working in partnership with colleagues to offer an exciting competitive and high performance programme for students.
Key to the role will be leading a new culture and change process to increase participation amongst students and staff. The new Sports Strategy will also link with the University’s Health and Well-Being strategy to deliver a ‘One University’ approach to the delivery of sport and physical activity. The key aim is to develop and lead projects to increase participation and deliver a high quality level of sport, fitness and physical activity opportunities for students and staff.
You must have a relevant degree in a sports related subject as well as a high level of experience and knowledge of Sport in Higher Education. Substantial experience of working at a management level as well as experience of working in sport and physical activity at a strategic level is a requirement.
