This survey is designed to help your institution reflect on its current approach to anti-racism across sport, and to understand where progress is being made and where further action is needed.

To support you in completing the survey, please use our Handbook.

Why your honesty matters

This survey is a reflective exercise and not an audit or test on behalf of BUCS.  The value of this diagnostic lies in building an accurate, honest view of where the sector currently stands. The more open and realistic your responses, the more meaningful your results will be. While you will receive a score, this will not shared or used by BUCS apart from as part of an aggregate. BUCS will be able to see trends across the sector which will support us to direct resources to areas of development. The score is purely for you to use as you choose, for example for setting a benchmark.

Once the survey closes, you will receive:

  • Your institution’s score based on your responses

  • A comparison against the aggregated BUCS-wide results

  • Insight to support targeted action planning

Confidentiality

Your responses will remain confidential and will not be attributed to you or your institution in any shared outputs.

No other university will see how your institution has responded or scored. Results will only be reported in aggregate across participating institutions.

You will receive your own institution’s results, alongside a comparison against the overall BUCS-wide picture.

Time to complete

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to physically complete it, however you may need to collaborate with colleagues to gather the information needed to understand your institutions’ position. We will share the questions separately on our website so everyone can use them to help complete the survey.

Closing date

Please complete the survey by 11 September. After this date you will not be able to complete the survey or have access to the dashboard and action plan support. We strongly recommend that you complete as much of the survey as possible, to make the most of opportunity and BUCS investment.

Your input is a vital step in strengthening anti-racism across university sport. Thank you for taking the time to contribute.
