Entry Process

To apply for this competition:

  1. Read all information contained on this webpage carefully. Please ensure you have read and understood and accept all information in the entry information tab drop down panels, the expectation of competitors panel and the event guide. If yes, proceed to step 2.
  2. Competitor to complete competition application on BUCS Play.
  3. Institution administrator approves entry.
  4. BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list.

If you are in any doubt as to whether your entry on BUCS Play has been submitted, please check with your institutional administrator or with BUCS. If you experience technical problems, please take a screenshot and note any details, and again inform your institutional administrator and BUCS - before the entry deadline. Please do not wait until after the entry deadline and then approach stating you had technical difficulties in entering. To check whether you are eligible to compete in LUSL competitions, please check the LUSL General Regulations

British Tennis Membership is NOT a requirement for entry to the LUSL Tennis Championships but, since students are entitled to free membership, it is encouraged. Students can apply for British Tennis Membership via the online form here.

Entries with British Tennis Membership should provide their membership number. Please enter full names and membership number as they appear on LTA affiliation. Those with membership are advised to check to ensure their personal details on their LTA account are up to date.

Cost and Entry Dates

Entry cost: £37.50 per person 

Entries open: Monday 02 October 2023

Student/Competitor Deadline: Tuesday 21 November 2023 at 23:59. (Students must apply by this deadline)

Institution Administrator Approval Deadline: Thursday 23 November 2023 at 23:59 (Institutional Administrators are given 48 hours after the student deadline to approve entries)

Both indviduals in the doubles pairing must enter the LUSL Doubles event via BUCS play. 

Entry allowance

All institutions will be guaranteed at least one doubles team per event. Additional teams will be accepted, subject to entry numbers, in order of merit. Teams should be entered by the university in order of merit. 

Please include ranking details if possible, for example, ranking your second pair as 2 and 2, and third pair as 3 and 3 etc. Students will be required to name their partner on BUCS Play when entering.
