The 2022 Midlands Tournament will take place at Hollinwell Golf Club.

***EVENT UPDATE*** 

With the state funeral for Her Majesty The Queen taking place on Monday 19 September, the BUCS Midlands Tournament will now commence on Tuesday 20 September.

It is not possible to play the full 54 holes as we cannot guarantee the staff or facilities for the Thursday. Both the Stirling International and Midlands Tournament will be shortened to 36 holes.

The 36 holes will be completed across two-days, with round one on Tuesday 20 and round two on Wednesday 21.

The entry fee for the event will be reduced to £70 per competitor.

Timetable

Round 1: Starting at 08:03 - 9 minute intervals, random order

Round 2: Starting at 08:30 - 9 minute intervals, reverse score order

Men will play off the White Tees, Women will play off the Red Tees.

Tee times will be emailed out through Golfbox and available on the 'Tee times/results' tab.

There will not be a cut for this event.

Practice

Competitors are welcome to contact Hollinwell Golf Club for a practice round on Sunday 18 September at their own expense, tee times for BUCS players are available from 13:09 - 15:15. Please be aware there is limited availability.

Competitors will be given a driving range token at the beginning of each day to use prior to their round.

Registration

Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before starting Round 1. Competitors are encouraged to register as soon as they arrive at the venue. Registration will be located in the clubhouse.

Competitors must show their student ID on arrival. Competitors who do not register may have their tee time withdrawn. Players need to come to registration area each day to collect their scorecard.

Competitors are encouraged to use and update golfbox for their scoring so the tournament can provide up to date live scoring.

As per the rules of golf, competitors who do not show for their tee time will be disqualified.

Order of Merit

This event forms part of the BUCS Golf Tour and Macpherson Order of Merit 2022-23.

BUCS Macpherson Order of Merit points for qualification to the BUCS Golf Tour Finals will be awarded to the top 20 men and top 20 women as detailed within the BUCS Golf rules and regulations.

Player Conduct

Players must not wear caps or golf shoes inside the clubhouse at any time and must adhere to the rules of the golf club/clubhouse.

Two England Golf Referees will follow the groups during the competition ensuring all BUCS regulations are adhered to. Any misbehaviour or foul language from the competitors reported by officials or venue staff will be taken extremely seriously by BUCS and competitors risk penalties or disqualification from the event.

Withdrawals

Competitors withdrawing during the competition must inform Luke Gallen, stating their reason for withdrawal. Any withdrawals after the IA approval deadline (Thursday 8 September 2022) will still be charged the entry fee.

Competitors must also inform their institution they have withdrawn from the competition. Any competitor who does not show up to register for their opening round will be considered a no show and their institution will be fined £50 in addition to the entry fee for the event.
