Entry Dates and Cost

Entries open on Tuesday 7 January 2020.
Entries close for students on Tuesday 18 February 2020 at 11:59pm

Institution Administrators deadline is Thursday 20 February 2020 at 11:59pm. This gives them 48 hours after the student deadline to approve entries. 

Entry Costs

  • Biathlon: £10.25
  • Pentathlon: £46.50
  • Tetrathlon (Non-Riding): £25.75
     

Staged Entry

There is no staged entry for this event.

Entry Allowance

Due to venue restrictions, the following entry restrictions will be in place:

  • Total number of competitors (Pentathlon, Tetrathlon, and Biathlon) will be restricted to 200
  • Maximum Pentathletes is provisionally set to 35 (maximum possible number of riders).  Ride places will be allocated at the organiser’s discretion, based on the following criteria:
    • At least 15 places for men, 15 for women.
    • Places are allocated on a first come basis, to a maximum of 4 men and 4 women per institution with any additional entries being allocated when entries close.
  • Maximum Pentatletes and Tetrathletes will be restricted to 90

    For each institution that has entered 10 or more athletes, the name of a volunteer will need to be entered. The lack of a volunteer on the day will result in excess athletes being unable to compete.
     

Entry Process

To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps.

  1. Competitor to complete competition application on BUCS Play
  2. Institution administrator ranks competitors for both Biathlon and Pentathlon
  3. Institution administrator approves entry
  4. BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirms entry list

 

Membership

Team membership for both the pentathlon and biathlon must be declared at the time of entry.

It may be possible to substitute one member for another from the same university on the day if they are already registered on BUCS Play, by coming to the event director with details of the current and desired team members.

All pentathlon and tetrathlon competitors will need to have PGB membership prior to applications being submitted, and the relevant certificates logged with PGB.

Student membership is available as an annual subscription, from Pentathlon GB’s webpage.
Entries will only be valid if all relevant certificates are logged with Pentathlon GB.

 

Withdrawals

Competitor withdrawals must be made by a competitors institutional admins by emailing Cleo Lyn

The entry deadline is Thursday 20 February 2020 at 11:59pm.

  • Withdrawals before this date will not be charged.
  • Withdrawals after this date will still be charged the entry fee.

BUCS Points

Appendix 1 outlines the BUCS Boxing Points offered for this competition

Overall Team: the pentathlon team competition will be decided by totalling all the event scores of each team member.
The winning team will be the team that has the highest score across all five events.
