DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Mission, Vision & Values :

• Support Warwick Sport in the delivery of the mission, vision and objectives of Warwick Sport, including increasing participation, significantly contributing to the staff and student experience, building communities and making a sustainable contribution.

2. Customer Experience:

• To provide a welcoming and safe environment and exceptional customer experience for all individuals that engage in the activities of the Warwick Active programme.

• To deliver high quality accessible programmes and activities that are inclusive to the whole university community and address current barriers and challenges to participation.

3. External Partnership:

• To build relationships and facilitate links with relevant external partners such as National Governing Bodies, Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sport, local Sports Clubs and local facility providers to develop and expand the Warwick Active Programme.

• To explore opportunities in conjunction with the Participation Manager to bid for additional funding to further support the Warwick Active Project.

4. Internal Partnerships:

• To build relationships and engage a number of internal departments across the University to develop, promote and publicise the Warwick Active programmes and opportunities to the University community as and where appropriate.

• To work with Warwick Accommodation to develop and support a Sport and Physical Activity Programme across the Halls of Residences.

• To work with other individuals within Warwick Sport to provide support for department events such as Open Days and the Sports Fair.

5. Quality Systems and Processes:

• To ensure the monitoring and evaluation of all elements of the Warwick Active project and ensure these are reported to Sport England as per the terms and conditions of the bid.

• To continually seek feedback and insight and regularly consult with a broad range of students and staff to ensure the activities and opportunities match that of the demand of the university community and new ideas for development are identified.

• To ensure that all programmes, activities and events are in line with the department normal operating procedures and that relevant risk assessments have been carried out.

• To administer intra-mural leagues and ladders and league management systems.

• To undertake regular training as and when required in job specific areas.

• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities in line with the grade of the post as directed by the Participation Manager.

6. Student Union Relationships:

• To work in conjunction with the Sports Officer, Sports Committee and other relevant members of the Student Union team to support, promote and publicise the Warwick Active Programme to the student community.

• To work with the Societies Officer to develop opportunities for engagement of the student societies to engage in the Warwick Active Programme.

7. Sport and Active Lifestyle:

• To work on the development and expansion of ladders and leagues for the university community.

• To work in conjunction with the Sports Officer and Societies Officer on the development of a Hall Sports Programme for those students living on campus to promote participation and social engagement across campus.

• To introduce new casual and social sports activity across a variety of sport based on facility availability and student and staff demand.

• To work closely with the sports clubs, to support where possible the expansion and development of leagues, ladders, courses and events.

• To work with the Sport and Active Lifestyle Team to explore additional opportunities to increase participation and extend the further improve the health and wellbeing of the campus community.

• To support all areas of the Sport and Active Lifestyle Team as and where appropriate in offering opportunities across sport and active lifestyles to the university community.

8. Marketing and Communications:

• To work with the marketing team in the promotion and marketing of the Warwick Active programme to the whole university community.

• To work with the marketing team in the communication of successes and achievements across the Warwick Active Programme.

• To support the marketing team and members of the Sport and Active Lifestyle Team in keeping the website and social media avenues updated with relevant content.

• To support the production of Warwick Active promotional material.
