We are an accredited TASS Delivery Site and remain proud to support elite athletes to excel within their studies and sporting performance. From the support provided to our elite athletes through to the wider club sport programme that contains 65 clubs and well over 4,000 student members this role provides a range of challenges and successes to celebrate. Previous work or experience within Higher Education sport is desirable but not essential and we welcome applications from other sectors as we value honest, supportive colleagues as well as those who bring previous knowledge that would make them successful in the role.

Description –

JOB PURPOSE

To provide support and assistance to the Performance Sport Manager, as well as supporting the Club Development Officer and wider Clubs team.

To administer all areas of the Performance Sport Programme including monitoring and evaluation of attendance at Performance Sessions, liaising with coaches and the strength and conditioning Team on areas for improvement, coordinating the application process to both the Team Warwick Performance Programme and the Scholarship Scheme and being a point of contact for sports scholarship athletes, club athletes and club related issues.

To support the delivery of the Club and Performance Sport Programme including attending events such as Open Days and Recruitment Events, supporting in putting together an annual programme of support services including sports nutrition and psychology sessions and raising the profile of Club and Performance Sport through marketing, celebration events and social media.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Mission, Vision & Values

• Support Warwick Sport in the delivery of the mission, vision and objectives of Warwick Sport, including Investing in Health, Customer Excellence, Inspiring Movement and Building Communities. To identify with and lead by example Warwick Sports values and behaviours in all aspects of work

2. Customer Experience

• To assist the delivery of high quality accessible programmes and sessions across the Performance Sport and Club Development Programme.

• To collate feedback across all areas of the Performance Sport and Club Development Programme and present this to the Performance Sport Manager and the Club’s team to use to continually develop these programmes.

• To work with other individuals within Warwick Sport to provide support for events such as Open Days, Sports Fair and Club Development events.

3. Club and Performance Sport Responsibilities

• To provide business support for primarily the Performance Sport Manager but to also support the Club Development Officer and the Clubs team.

• To act as the conduit between the athlete and their academic tutors around course deadlines / extensions to ensure the athlete maintains their dual athlete career balancing their studies and their sporting commitments

• To coordinate and carry out the reporting, monitoring and evaluation of the Performance Sport Programme and Club Development Programme to include attendance monitoring at sessions and ongoing results of teams and individuals.

• To assist, if requested by the strength and conditioning team, with monitoring of testing with athletes.

• To coordinate the mentoring process of athletes on the Performance Sport Programme.

• To communicate regularly with all sports scholarship athletes and teams on the Performance Sport Programme about any issues or areas related to Performance Sport.

• To communicate regularly with coaches, the strength and conditioning team and any other individuals involved in the delivery of sessions about any issues or areas related to the Club and Performance Sport Programme.

• To be the first point of contact for enquiries related to the Performance Sport Programme.

• Through enquiries, open days and specifically targeted events collect details of potential student athletes that fit the profile of a University of Warwick Performance Sport student and communicate regularly with these individuals to attempt to recruit them to Warwick.

• To organise social events throughout the year for athletes on the Team Warwick Club and Performance Programme, to celebrate success and build a sense of community within the programme.

• To place and manage any orders for the Club and Performance Sport Programme and process any other financial paperwork in line with the grade of the job.

• To work in conjunction with the Sales and Events Team on bookings for Club and Performance Sport Clubs and Programmes.

• To ensure that all programmes, sessions and events within the Performance Sport Programme are in line with the department normal operating procedures and that relevant risk assessments that have carried out.

• To sign off timesheets and cross check against hours worked for casual members of the Performance Sport Team.

• To regularly audit the equipment within the Club and Performance Sport Programme.

• To administer the application process to both the Team Warwick Performance Programme and the Scholarship Scheme and being a point of contact for club related issues.

• To support Team Warwick Performance Club and Scholarship Holders at National Competitions, e.g. BUCS Big Wednesday.

• To book in meetings and provide administration support e.g. minute taking for meetings that take place within the Club and Performance Sport Team.

• To undertake regular training as and when required in job specific areas.

• To undertake any other duties and responsibilities in line with the grade of the post as directed by Performance Sport Manager.

• To process all payments for Scholarship Holders through university financial procedures and processes.

4. Marketing and Communications

• To work with the marketing team in the promotion and marketing of the Club and Performance Sport Programme to the whole university community.

• To work with the marketing team to regularly communicate the successes and achievements of athletes and Clubs within the Performance Sport Programme.

• To support the marketing team and members of the delivery team in keeping the website and social media avenues updated with relevant content.

• To support the production of Club and Performance Sport Programme promotional material.
