Description

Team Surrey has an incredible range of 44 different sports clubs, and the Club Sport Coordinator will be involved in working with the committee of each Club to establish Club objectives, grow and develop their membership base, introduce innovative new ideas and activities, and have a significant impact on the student experience.

The Club Sport Coordinator’s role is primarily two-fold. Firstly, they are the ‘go-to’ member of staff at Surrey Sports Park for each of Team Surrey’s 44 sports clubs. They are there to triage any questions Clubs may have about their ClubSport sessions and how they are run, answer these questions, or sign-post clubs to other parties who may need to be involved in that conversation. Secondly, the Club Sport Coordinator will work with all Team Surrey clubs and their committees to identify ways in which clubs can improve the experience of their members throughout the year and over the coming years.

They will work autonomously to develop, implement, and review a club development scheme that supports club committees in their own development, and provides measurable improvements in student satisfaction through involvement in sport. This is to be achieved by managing the annual Club Development Planning process with each new Club committee after AGM season, and advising on the implementation of new initiatives, organisational processes and events. Additionally, a core part of the role is to run a series of progress meetings during the academic year to ensure clubs are keeping in-line with their own objectives for growth and development, as well as the wider Team Surrey objectives (Surrey Sports Park and the Students’ Union) and strategy.
