Description
The University of Portsmouth Women’s Rugby Club are recruiting a Backs Coach to lead the 1st team at training and match days where possible.
The club consists of a team competing in the BUCS South Eastern Tier 2 league, and novice players looking to develop their skills.
Training sessions take place on:
- Mondays, 6.30pm – 8.00pm at HMS Temeraire, Portsmouth - Fridays, 6.00pm – 7.30pm at HMS Temeraire, Portsmouth Fixtures are scheduled for Wednesday afternoons (times & locations vary).
Main Responsibilities:
● Plan, deliver and evaluate weekly training sessions, in line with the club’s playing philosophy, working collaboratively with the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches
● Attend team fixtures and manage the match-day squad where possible
● Communicate effectively with the Club / Team Captains to advise on team selection
● Promote the club’s philosophy to all members
● Adhere to the University’s Code of Conduct
Criteria:
● Essential: England Rugby Coaching Award Level 2
● Essential: Previous coaching experience
● Essential: Good organisation skills
● Essential: Good communication skills
● Desirable: UKCC Level 3: RFU Advanced Coaching Award (or working towards)
● Desirable: An understanding of competitive rugby within Higher Education
Payment £15 - £20 per hour for training, depending on qualifications and experience. Fixture fee TBC.
