We’re looking for an organised individual with an innovative and creative outlook to lead on coordinating, developing and expanding our digital reach and engagement as Digital Marketing Coordinator. Working as part of the proactive Business Development team, you’ll provide marketing support and be responsible for driving digital improvements to help achieve the business plan for our state of the art new indoor sports facility.

Ravelin Sports Centre is an outstanding new public sports centre opening later this year in Portsmouth. The £57M sports centre’s superb facilities include a 25m 8 lane swimming pool, 175 station fitness suite, climbing wall, ski simulator, café and community orchard set in historic parkland.

You’ll play a key role in enhancing the University’s reputation for sport, and establish the University as one of the leading modern universities for sport within the HE sector. Providing support across the whole department, you’ll lead on coordinating, developing and expanding our digital reach and engagement across web, social media, CRM and email.

You’ll need to demonstrate excellent English language written and oral communication skills, including excellent spelling and grammar, and the ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately for a range of different audiences and platforms. We’ll also be looking for you to demonstrate knowledge of local and national media and an understanding of media needs, as well as experience of:

  • writing copy for web and social media
  • marketing/promotions in a related role within a commercially focussed consumer organisation
  • creating engaging content for web and social media in a professional environment, including video, image, graphic and written

To support the delivery of University/Departmental events, activities and functions the post holder is expected to work flexibly to provide services to a range of customers. As a maximum, the post holder may be needed to work 1-3 weekday evenings and 1 weekend day per month as well as specific peak times per service.
