The University of Manchester has over 16,000 students and staff taking part in organised sport and physical activity through the University. The University recognises the importance of an active lifestyle in both the experiences that these opportunities provide our audiences as well as the positive impact that they have on their wellbeing. Delivery of our sport and physical activity strategy is through UoM Sport which is based across our campuses primarily in Fallowfield at the Armitage Sports Centre and in Manchester University Students’ Union on Oxford Road.
Our activities take place across the city utilising a range of city facilities in supporting our community being active and promoting physical activity opportunities through our facilities and programmes.
The University is therefore looking to appoint a Sport Competitions Administrator to support the administration of the performance sport programme. This person will play a key role in the delivery of competitive sport to student athletes at the University of Manchester throughout the year.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Performance Sport Team to support the operations of the programme and assist with the delivery of all competitive and representative sport opportunities. This includes BUCS fixtures, events and any other local/national leagues & competitions.
The post holder will also provide club administration guidance & support to student groups.
The role holder will also be a keen team player, with great organisation skills and the capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
The ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with opponents, external clubs & other organisations for matters relating to competitive sport activity is also crucial to be successful in the role.
