Description
To help design, maintain and develop an exciting, multi-media communications and promotions plan for Sport & Exercise customers to maximise interest, awareness and engagement across all its activities.
Main responsibilities:
• Promotions: 20% In conjunction with the Head of Communications, Marketing and Membership work closely across Sport & Exercise units to develop and deliver appropriate, appealing and consistent promotional materials. Attend events as required to support advocacy such as University Open Days, Seasonal Promotions and Welcome Week.
• Social Media: 20% Work with the Marketing and Membership Officer and with the support of the HoCMM to review, develop and maintain the social networking presence and strategy of University Sport & Exercise to maximise engagement. Monitor and respond to social media traffic, escalating complex issues as required.
• Communications Planning: 20% Support the HoCMM to develop and maintain Sport & Exercise’s direct and digital communication strategy to maximise impact and engagement across Sport & Exercise units.
• Copy Writing: 20% To produce a range of short articles and features across Sport & Exercise units on programmes, events, promotions and successes. This will involve a range of writing styles and content for different audiences and publications (including E-Bulletin, Edit, Sport & Exercise newsletter, brochures, press briefings, University Staff news, direct and E-direct mail) ensuring copy deadlines are met.
• Website: 10% Work with the Marketing and Membership Officer to ensure the regular updating and maintenance of the Sport & Exercise website seeking guidance from the HoCMM and/or IT Officer as required.
• Image Gallery Maintenance: 5% Work with the HoCMM and internal designer to maintain and develop Sport & Exercise’s image gallery, commissioning new photography to support the Marketing and Promotions plan subject to the approval of the HoCMM.
• Meetings, Policies and Planning: 5% Provide support for the HoCMM by attending meetings, creating and updating policies, assisting with planning and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Marketing and Promotions Plan.
