University of Dundee Ladies Hockey Club are recruiting self-motivated individual to take on the role of Head Coach.

The club currently have four women's teams that compete regularly in BUCS, with 1XI competing in BUCS Scottish Tier 1, and Scottish Hockey's Championship and Regional leagues. The club have expanded to five teams for the upcoming BUCS season.

The individual will lead the 1st team coaching, with the clear objective of developing and supporting high performing student hockey athletes. As well as directly leading the 1st team, the individual will also work with the lower team coaches to develop a culture of continuous improvement

Person Specification Required:

• Qualified to at least Scottish/FIH Level 2

• Experience and success in coaching competitive adult teams

• Excellent understanding of the technical and tactical aspects of the game

• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

• High-level organisational skills

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other coaches and associated staff

• Demonstrated ability to integrate and develop young / inexperienced players

• Ability to coach a range of skill levels

• Reliability and punctuality Desirable

• Knowledge of BUCS

• Experience in University Hockey

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Availability for two weekly training sessions - Tuesday (18:00-20:00) and Thursday (19:30-21:00).

• Availability to attend Wednesday matches.

• Planning and delivery of technical training sessions to 1st team on a weekly basis.

• Match-day preparation and tactics.

• Regular evaluation of 1st team performance

• Regular communication with 1st team captain and club captain.

• Communication with lower team coaches

• Supporting development lower team coaches.

• Support development of student coaches and officials.

• To be a suitable ambassador for the club and University
