Post: Coach – Trampoline club

Responsible to: Union of Students (University of Derby)

Hours: 1.5 hours per week for up to 22 weeks (September 2023 to March 2024)

Salary: £25 per hour

General Job purpose: To organise and deliver coaching to the University of Derby Trampoline club with the aim to develop its members Location University of Derby, Kedleston Road, Derby, DE22 1GB

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1) To be the key Union contact with regards to operational development duties, working alongside the clubs elected student committee members.

2) To develop and deliver effective weekly club training and individual skill development

3) To be a positive and professional role model at all times, displaying good coaching conduct and promoting an enjoyable, motivating and inclusive atmosphere which upholds the ethos of the Union of Students

4) To support and promote the development of the club, helping to meet its aims and objectives, and liaising with the Committee & Union staff on future development opportunities

5) To be aware of NGB guidelines and be able to provide feedback to the the club with relevant developments in the sport

6) To be responsible for the safety of all participants during training, ensuring the safe use of equipment by adhering to the Health & Safety guidelines of university facilities

7) To act in accordance with the coach code of practice and NGB guidelines

8) Attend and contribute to any Coach Development Reviews during the season

9) Any other duties appropriate to the role, as directed by the Union of Students

Experience Required:

- Minimum Level 2 NGB qualification

- Previous relevant coaching experience

- Underpinning knowledge of sport

- Technical and practical skills and knowledge as required

- Act as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the people you work with
