We are seeking to appoint a Duty Supervisor to join the team responsible for the efficient and effective management of day-to-day operations and services at the University of Cambridge Sports Centre, on a temporary basis. Duty Supervisors are expected to have excellent communication skills; be able to deal with a range of customers and handle difficult situations effectively with tact and diplomacy. You should have the ability to effectively motivate your team and possess strong leadership skills. As the Duty Supervisor, you will lead a team of Sports Centre staff, ensuring that operational, health and safety and security protocols are implemented effectively. You will ensure high standards of customer care are exhibited throughout the facilities to create a welcoming, professional, and safe atmosphere for users.
The role holder will also work closely with the Estates staff to manage the Health & Safety, maintenance and environmental management procedures and processes throughout the facility.
The hours of work are not fixed but will be based on a shift pattern that includes early mornings, late evenings and weekend shifts.
The Duty Supervisor will also deal with urgent issues that may arise at other University of Cambridge Sports Service sites (Fenner's and Wilberforce Road Sports Ground) during evenings and weekends if the site supervisors are not available.
Applicants should have a degree-level education in Sports Management or related discipline and/or relevant experience of managing within the sports/leisure industry. Applicants should also possess a First Aid at Work qualification and an Automated Emergency Defibrillator qualification.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 6 months in the first instance.
