Description

The FISU World Forum 2024 will be held in Zagreb, Croatia from 27 August to 31 August 2024. Organized by the Croatian Academic Sports Federation in collaboration with the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the forum will bring together students, university sports officials, and industry professionals from around the world to discuss and promote the development of university sports and physical activity.

The theme of Zagreb 2024 FISU World Forum is “University Sport: Creating a Better World”. The program will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and networking events, covering a range of topics such as sports management, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, and innovation in university sports.

British Universities & Colleges Sport as the National University Sports Federation represents the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The FISU Forum 2024 provides a unique experience for three students and a one staff representative from across BUCS member institutions to attend. As a leading international educational event,  the FISU World Forum is held biennially over five days welcoming over 200 participants from over 65 countries. The delegation is anticipated to arrive in Zagreb on 26 August and depart of the 1 September 2024. Further information on the Forum can be found HERE

As a BUCS representative you will need to;

  • Possess a good understanding of the national and international university landscape
  • Be an advocate of BUCS
  • Be a good communicator and able to positively interact with other international representatives

Participation for representatives attending the event is £1175 inclusive of all costs including international travel, accommodation, meals, kit, and associated costs for the duration of the FISU World Forum. Prior to submission of your application, we encourage applicants to explore the feasibility of financial support from their institution when obtaining the required Institution Nomination Acknowledgement (INA).
