Union of Kingston Students (UKS) supports and represents over 16,000 students across four campuses and is based on the main campus, Penrhyn Road, in the vibrant town of Kingston-Upon-Thames. We are run by students, for students, and as an independent democratic charity and membership organisation, we have student leadership at every level.
We are looking for someone to deliver our successful competitive sports provision at Kingston University and provide support and guidance to our 30+ sports clubs and their committee members.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of our BUCS sports programme and enhancing the results and performance of Kingston Sport. You will also be responsible for overseeing student staff who deliver our small programme of recreational sessions and campus football league. You will create and deliver training for our club committee members and seek out additional opportunities for our students and their clubs to develop across the academic year. The role will also lead in key department events such as Varsity and Sport Awards.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about sport and physical activity, understand students' needs, and be driven by a desire to help and support them. This role requires a large volume of administrative support to clubs and being a point of call for committee members. They will be highly organised, understand how to manage multiple projects effectively, and have a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
Outline of main duties:
1.
- Coordinate all student-led sports-related activity Support the governance structures for the Union's sports and related student clubs, including Union Meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
- Source and manage the booking of all facilities for clubs and recreational sessions Provide sports club administration to support competitions, fixtures, coaching and training. Identify the training needs of club committee members and plan, deliver and review training where appropriate in conjunction with the Student Opportunities Manager and relevant elected officer.
- To manage & lead in the full delivery logistics of the British Universities & Colleges Sport [BUCS] Individual Championships and London Universities Sports League, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, rules & regulations

- Support students and officers in relevant sports led activity Provide appropriate support and advice to the Sports Working Action Group Provide support to elected committee members of the Union's sports clubs via development plans and meetings to run their activities effectively in line with the Union's policy and procedures.
- Work with sports clubs to promote and develop their activities to students and investigate future opportunities for club activity and growth.

- Contribute to the Student Opportunities Department's strategic and operational planning
- Support the delivery of the Union's strategic plan by aligning sports activity with the Union's vision and strategic goals.
- Budget holder and approver for all sports clubs and sports departmental spending, ensuring effective performance against income targets and budgetary control.
- Lead on the delivery of the Unions Sports Strategy, support its development and feed into the Union's planning process
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and officers across the Union to grow and develop student sport
