Description
We are looking for ambitious and experienced Tennis, Hockey, Golf and Basketball coaches who are specialists in their sport to provide quality coaching to our students.
The key role of the Coaches on our Nike Camps is to be responsible for the coaching and welfare of players on our camps on court/pitches during sessions. Working alongside the Head Coach, you will deliver a range of sessions based on our coaching curriculum's. You will also have responsibility for students’ welfare and supervision, both on and off the court/pitch. You will support students in all aspects of their day-to-day life on camp. You will be required to stay residentially at our programme venues.
- Deliver a range of sessions in line with our curriculum's, supported by the Sports Head Coach
- Positively contribute to the development, enjoyment, and safety of every player on the camp
- Contribute towards player evaluations at the end of each camp including writing individual player reports
- Hold daily meetings to build rapport and check welfare of players
- Work with the Welfare Team to assist with wake ups, supervision of players between sessions, at mealtimes and during their free time
- Option to join weekend excursions and help supervise players on the excursion
- Assist in the organising and running of evening activities when required
- If required, assist the airport staff teams at either Heathrow or Gatwick on arrivals/departures days.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
All staff will contribute to the overall smooth running of the camp. Ultimately the safety of children is paramount, and the high standards expected of working with top brands needs to be maintained. We expect high personal standards, friendly, positive and approachable staff who will always remain professional and calm. Staff will be able to handle sensitive situations well, adhering to confidentiality and data protection guidance, have excellent organisational skills, be good role models and be able to contribute to a positive working environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have high-level playing ability
- Have the ability to engage and excite young players who are gaining an insight into life as a professional athlete.
- Have previous coaching experience
- Hold the relevant sports governing body coaching qualification – Level 1 and above. This is a residential position at one of our venues (Oxford, Reading and Surrey) and you will be required to have a minimum of two consecutive weeks of availability over the summer.
Our camps run from the 24th of June- 18th of August.
