Description

Time of work: Term time between September & December 2023 and January & March 2024

Salary: Competitive depending on qualifications and experience or Grade 4/5/6 depending on qualification

Required Coach Qualification: England Rugby Advanced Coaching Award (ERCA) , insurance to cover coaching of contact rugby, First Aid qualification.

Team Training Times: 2-4 hours/week

Role Description 

  1. To work alongside the Sport Development team and Club leader to set appropriate development and performance goals for the club and create a plan on how to meet these goals.
  2. To plan and deliver high quality training sessions for the Men’s and Women’s Rugby club that will ensure the development of all players and progress towards the set goals.
  3. To ensure a consistent approach and coaching philosophy across all teams.
  4. To maintain regular communication with club leaders throughout the season.
  5. In consultation with the club leader of the committee & other coaches (where applicable),To support with team selection including determining a selection process and providing feedback to those not selected.
  6. To adhere to LSBU Active’s Coaching Code of Conduct and the relevant NGB guidelines and regulations.
  7. To be responsible for the safety of all participants including ensuring the safe use of equipment.
  8. To encourage a participation ethic and environment that encourages high attendance at training sessions.
  9. To produce an end of season report and to meet with the Senior Sports Development Officer twice a year to discuss the report.
  10. Where appropriate, to support the work of the club leader and Sport Development team
  11. Any other duties appropriate to the role, as directed by the Senior Sports Development Officer
  12. To support club members to increase club membership levels by recruiting during student facing events such as Freshers and Sports Fairs.
  13. Support with monitoring of student attendance at training sessions
