Description

The Men's Blues 1st team is looking to recruit an experienced Head Coach to start in late April and coach through to late June 2021, the end of the season.

We are seeking someone for three training sessions per week: Monday (6-7.30 pm), Friday (7-8.30 pm), and Sunday (8-9.30 am), and for one game per week on Wednesdays (2 pm KO). Training sessions take place at Oxford City FC, and home games are played at the Iffley Road Sports complex or at Oxford City FC. The position would be paid.

In subsequent seasons the commitment would run alongside the university’s Michaelmas and Hilary timetable - from September to December, then January to mid-March. During this time, you would be required to travel to other universities in the Midlands for away games.

About US: the team is currently defending champions of the BUCS Midlands Division 1A and play against teams such as the University of Nottingham, University of Derby, University of Birmingham, and University of Cambridge. The team also competes in one of the oldest recurring fixtures in the world, the Oxbridge Varsity against Cambridge, and additionally in prestigious fixtures against the AFA representative team in London and internationally against top sides in the US and China. Due to the pandemic, the 2020-21 BUCS season is cancelled. Instead, the team will play weekly games in Oxford, including a varsity against local rivals Oxford Brookes in mid-May, and the 137th annual Oxbridge Varsity in late June which we are ultimately working towards.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• UEFA B-licence

• Relevant coaching experience Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a practical training session as part of the interview process.
