Description
Newcastle University is seeking an outstanding Head of Basketball to oversee the coaching, delivery, and ongoing strategic development of performance basketball (men and women). You will be the Head Coach to the men’s 1st team and have a proven track record in coaching basketball and gaining results at a performance level.
The post holder will be based at the University Sport and Fitness Centre and will play an integral part in enhancing the University’s reputation for basketball and establishing the University as one of the top performance sport universities for basketball within the HE sector in the UK.
Applicants will have a Basketball England Level 2 coaching qualification, or equivalent and have a minimum of 3 years experience at a performance level, preferably with senior performance athletes. You will have a good understanding of the structure of basketball in the UK, Basketball England, and the British Universities Colleges Sports system (BUCS). You will be required to adopt a flexible approach to work, be able to work as part of a team and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
