Description

Working within the Sport Operations Team, you will be assisting the onsite Duty Supervisor to support safe and efficient provision of Sport Hallam facilities and services. These roles will play an important part in delivering excellent student and customer support to all our stakeholders.

You will support day-to-day operations on a range of on and off Campus facilities.

This will include: Setting up outdoor pitches, Some basic domestic and housekeeping duties Hospitality and front of house service. We are looking for someone who is proactive and will effectively contribute to a can-do culture, seeking solutions to problems and challenges, working dynamically and flexible in line with service need.

This role presents an opportunity to work with a wide selection of people includes sports professionals and elite athletes, coaches, members of the community, complete beginners who are new to sport, fitness and or physical activity, so being personable and supportive to a diverse range of needs is essential.

At the heart of the service, the Facilities Assistant will need to demonstrate high standards of customer service, excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively across the whole staff team.

These roles require the successful candidates to work regular patterns of shift work, at a variety of venues, currently the shifts available are:

Day - Location - Time - Paid Hours

Monday - Collegiate Campus - 14:30 – 22:15 = 7.25 paid hours

Tuesday - City Campus - 16:00 - 20:00 = 4 paid hours

Wednesday - SHUCAS - 16:30 – 20:45 = 4.25 paid hours

Thursday - City Campus - 12:30 - 21:45 = 8.75 paid hours

Friday - City Campus - 12:30 - 21:45 = 8.75 paid hours

Total 33 hours per week Some degree of flexibility to the above maybe available, and job share will be considered.

The sites are open between 8.30a.m – 10:15pm and cover for other team members may occasionally be required, this will be agreed between the team as required.

The Sport Services Team Sport Service sits within Campus Services as part of Student and Academic Service Directorate, responsible for operating four sport facilities including: Sheffield Hallam Sports Park Sheffield Hallam City Athletics Stadium City Gym and Pearson Gym As well as a wide range of sport and physical activity programmes and services for our students, staff and local community.

With a team of approximately 45 contracted members of staff with a further support team of 60+ you will become part of a workforce passionate about transforming lives through sport and physical activity.
