Description

English Universities Sport (EUS) is the official association in England which administrates and sanctions national representative student competition across higher education. We are a democratic and innovative membership organisation, comprising of a strong Committee, exceptional coach network and professional support staff from the sport and higher education sectors. EUS strives to support the development of all its student athletes and provide opportunities to compete at the highest domestic representative level. Our teams compete in the biennial Home Nations Tournament as well as numerous fixtures against professional and amateur representative clubs from across the UK.

The External Trustee Role

+ Provide independent oversight & guidance on EUS governance, compliance, & strategy

+ Contribute specialist insight into legal, financial, safeguarding, or sport development

+ Challenge constructively & offer insight from an external or sector-relevant perspective

+ Should not be a staff member of an EUS Subscribed Institution

Required Skills, Experience & Knowledge:

+ Significant experience in governance, finance, law, sport, education, or non-profit leadership

+ Independent mindset & commitment to ethical leadership + Strong analytical & strategic thinking ability

+ Understanding of trustee responsibilities & accountability

+ Prior board or committee experience

The application deadline is 12pm on Wednesday 9th July 2025, and role elections will take place on Tuesday 15th July 2025 at 5.30pm during EUS AGM (BUCS Conference, University of Hull).
