Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive team leader to join the University of Cambridge Sports Service. As a Duty Supervisor, you will be part of the team responsible for the day-to-day operations and services provided at the University sports facilities. A broad range of student, staff and community-club training sessions, competitions and events take place across our sites, in addition to a thriving gym, class and racquet sports membership community at the University Sports Centre.

You will supervise, motivate and support a team of sports, fitness and reception staff to create a welcoming, professional, and safe atmosphere for all of our users.

You will also work closely with the Estates Management staff to manage the health and safety, maintenance and environmental management procedures and processes throughout the facilities.

Your hours of work are based on a shift pattern that includes early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holiday shifts.

Applicants should have a proven track record and relevant experience of management within the sports/leisure industry with associated management training/qualifications and/or degree level education.

Duty Supervisors are expected to have excellent communication skills and an inclusive approach. They should also be able to deal with a range of customers, handling difficult situations effectively with tact and diplomacy.

Applicants should possess a Level 3 First Aid at Work qualification and a health and safety qualification, or the ability to achieve these.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
